Proposed EPA Regulations Could Force WV Power Plants to Close

From Fox News Insider: Is America's need for energy hampering the ability to create a cleaner environment for our citizens? American Electric Power says new rules proposed by the EPA will force them to close several coal power plants, resulting in a loss of 600 jobs. But industry groups project a net loss of 1.8 million job loss over eight years directly or indirectly related to the industry.

Because three of these plants are located in West Virginia, their closures would affect not only the plant workers, but trucking companies and other industries. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson says the regulations are in line with Clean Air Act and would reduce illnesses and premature deaths. James Rosen reports live from Moundsville, West Virginia.
